Was meant to be picking up a gorgeous sec a grey colt 2day. Lady had it advertised for £125. I put a £30 deposit on it and she promised to keep it till today for me. Had arranged transport and a driver and everything. Rang this am to arrange a time to get there and she says the price she put him up for was a mistake and it should of been £500, wouldnt meet me half way even though she had agreed the £125 price with me by e-mail.
Am really totally fed up as this pony was stunning. Where do i stand with this situation? Is she allowed to do this, we had a verbal agreement.

How annoying! It is her choice though and she is entitled to change her mind if she so wishes. I wonder if you meet in the middle whether she will change her mind again?

You are entitled to find another pony of a similar quality and pay "the market rate" for it and sue her for the difference.

And the only people who will win from that is the lawyers. You're just going to have to forget it I'm afraid.

No she isn't entitled to change her mind.. A contract was struck and she is legally obliged to meet the contract. But with the value being only £500 there's no way you can force her unless you have endless fund to make a point with

too much hassle to sue her for the sake of a not very expensive pony.

i would reiterate your offer still stands and if she doesn't take it just ask for your deposit back and look for another pony.

contract law can be costly and you need to weigh this up with what you will achieve in any case settlement. Put it down to experience and move on, good luck with your pony purchase, it will happen x
