Well covered pony has a trace clip, he is stabled at night, and today he has been naked, u am tempted to leave him that way tonight in his stable, or is that cruel? I do have a light weight stable rug.

He does hold his heat in, just wondering what do you all do?

Before I get jumped on :), this is the first time I have had a clipped horse/pony, so it is new to me :o

I don't think leaving naked will do any harm at all, especially as he has some covering that he might afford to lose before Spring? He will be fine I am sure!

A little depends on what the forecast is in your area, and what he's been used to,
if it's -5 nad he's had a heavy weight on until today probably harsh
- if it's 3/4 degrees and he's only been having a light weight on - he'll probably not notice the difference.

Mine has a trace clip. He is in a 300g rug both in the stable and field, I rug him in the stable because he isn't able to move around to keep himself warm. The weather has perked up and is around 2.C - 3.C at night so I have put them all back out in the field at night. I had an 'overprotective mummy moment' the first night they went back out and scurried off to the field at 11pm at night to check him thinking he would be an ice cube, but he was so cosy and chuffed to be back out again :)
