I recently invested in the 50g Rambo Dry-Liner for after exercise and I love it. Shortly after, horse decided to escape from field and trashed his other 100g turnout in the process.

He's too cold in just a rainsheet at the moment but not clipped so too warm in a 200g, annoyingly I have every weight liner except a 50-100g. I've chucked the dry-liner on as a temporary measure and he's warm & happy.

So, is there any reason I can't just use this as a 'normal' every day liner rather than invest in a 100g liner for his Rambo rug?

Logically I am thinking no but somehow I feel 'wrong' using it for it's non-designed purpose 😁

I think it was designed to be a liner to put under a rug after work to dry them and keep them warm when turned out? Atleast that's my understanding of it so I can't see why you cant use it as a normal liner? I'm almost certain I bought one previously to have that in-between liner but I just bought a 50g Rambo turnout then as it was on offer.

Yes it's basically designed as a cooler to go under turnout rug to keep them warm/dry off after exercise which is what I bought it for and I love it - it's a brilliant invention. I just feel like I'm doing something 'wrong' using it as a day-to-day liner as well but horse is perfectly snug in it so I don't see why not. Will it get trashed? 🙈 Although at basically the same cost as buying a 'standard' 50/100g liner I could just replace it in due course anyway.

I cant see how it would get trashed anymore than a normal liner? While I've never used my airmax as a liner I've used the normal Horseware liners and never had a issue. As long as it has all the loops to keep in in place I'm sure it would be fine? Anyways Horseware have said on their website to use under turnouts so I'd say use it. It probably feels like using a liner as a stable rug, you can do it but it doesn't feel right! 😂

I have the same one, it sometimes gets used as a standard liner. I don’t think it’s any more likely to get trashed than a normal liner and they seem comfy in it.

I have the airmax rather than the dry liner and I frequently use it as a liner under a turnout rug, especially if the pony has been working. It is a great little cooler rug and the pony appears to find it comfortable.
