Stupid Question - can I wash a rug with Hibiscrub?

Not in the washing machine, I should add! I was going to do it by hand but I just wanted to scrub the inside lining with something to kill bacteria and not do anything damaging to the rug or be harsh on my mare's skin.

Will this be okay to use?

It'll be on turnout rugs.

I think you'll find plenty of more suitable things to wash it with. Personally I wouldnt but im a pressure washer and bucket with diluted disinfectant and a scrubbing brush kinda boy!
 
I would bung it in the washing machine with some of that dettol laundry disinfectant. I use it occasionally, e.g. on boots if he's had a touch of mud fever, and haven't had any problems with my horse's sensitive skin.

That's what I'm planning on doing but was hoping I had something already that I could use!

I think my OH would be a tad annoyed with me if I put it in the washing machine! Plus I'm scared of breaking the machine!

I have but not in tha machine, when mine had bacterial infection I used a plasticc bath and left it soaking in uni scrub for a few hours, then used it on the metal cloths rail left to dry.

Did the trick
 
If any fit in the washing mashine use dettol laundry product in the rinse. Otherwise send them for cleaning at a rug wash and that should be sufficient.
As my horse is prone to bacterial skin infections I always use dettol laundry rinse when washing rugs and numnahs. I also use washing detergent suitable for babies! I also wash mine more regularly than I normally would .

I wash all my fleece rugs, summer sheets and fly rugs in the machine with human washing powder and never had any problems been doing it years for some reason I thought you were talking about a turnout rug.
