Stupid question!!

Right, this is prob a verry stupid question! But can horses eat the tops of carrots? I always cut them of but others say they can. lol!

I always give my girl the lot. I have heard in France that they give horses oranges, rind and all. Does anyone know if this is true?

mine gets all sorts of fruit - never tried oranges though! think i gave a few people at the yard a shock when she came in from the field apparently bleeding heavily from the mouth (i'd actually just given her a punnet of raspberries as a treat...)

I have heard a lot of people say you shouldn't feed carrot tops....

(the green bits, not the actual tops off the carrots!!)

It's potatoes where you shouldn't feed the green parts, which are highly toxic.

I keep my horse on a organic farm & we get loaaaaads of free carrot tops which Honey loves, she eats it like spagetti

and my old pony ate my friends lunch which she stupidly left in his stable lol, that was oranges .. custard creams and a bag of crisps! Ponies will eat anything tbh!
