stupid question?

This might seem a stupid question to some but I was wondering if you could do Monty Roberts Join Up with a unbroken pony?

Yh definately, it's good for trust and leadership at the same time so it's good for unbroken horses and ponies. How young is the pony?

Course you can, if its don't correctly and your horse doesn't be come petrified of it.


I've done join-up with my lad since he was 16months old, done him the world of good, he had a year or 2 break from it too.

it's my fiends pony, he's 2years old recently rescued and my friend asked me to put this question up because she'd really like to try it out so thanks for the quick reply!

It'd be good for a rescue pony and, at 2 years old, it's a good age to start

Go for it, follow it properly though because many get carried away and end up causing more damage then good.

It's a great thing to do, as you'll strengthen your bond and when it comes to breaking in, you'll quite possibly have a head start. At the very minimum you'll instill who's in charge with no brute force.
