Ok then, we've moved the horses so that for the first time they can be out 24/7. They are in a lovely sheltered 2 acre field thats only previously been grazed by sheep last year.
We introduced them by fencing off 1/2 acre and letting them in for a few hours every day. They are now on about 3/4 of an acre 24/7 and still have plently of grass due to the weather.
SO why have I just got a phone call to say my 10yo 15:2hh mare is now grazing the wrong side of the fence

The 4yo is still muching happily the right side of the fence.
I've just been up, she has obviously jumped over the 4ft electric tape, God knows how long she'd been over I last checked them at 4pm. Thankfully the people that rang have just got back from holiday and were surprised to see that she was that side and thought they'd better ring and check.
Shes looking very stuffed and sorry for herself I've checked her feet and can't feel any digital pulse.
Please God let her be OK

They've all got spring grass running through their veins at the moment, my barmy 10 year old got so upset when we took two our other horses out today that by the time we got back she had her rug wrapped around her legs and was caked in sweat, wouldn't mind if i had left her alone but she had another horse with her!! mad mad horse

i dont think she would agree with the stupid horse remark im sure she thought she was terribly clever at the time with the youngster watching in awe pmsl im sure she will be fine.

Mien escaped from their sectioned off part at the weekend. Was getting 2 out to go for a ride and we were keeping our eye on the old TB who had his beedy eye on the gap. We didn't however count on the scared-to-death-of-the-electric-tape old pony deciding to make a break for it! Oh, he was so pleased with himself and was swiftly followed by sly old TB. I had to let the two go I was holding as they were getting rather 'lively' and they all set off hooning about the other half of the field ropes trailing and me thinking "god, who's going to break themselves first?!"

Fortunately all ok and 2 old horses were swiftly put back to where they came and were well and truly in the dog house!

I think my mare is more stupid than yours!

I moved them home yesterday, popped them out in their relevant fields, and I found my silly mare this morning in the restricted grazing paddock with the Shetland.

Why on earth would she leave a field full of grass to go into a starvation paddock?
