Just come back from a show and both OH and I are in agony.
Wouldn't mind if they were honourable riding injuries, but...
I fell off the ladder climbing onto the Luton and landed on the cooker (not hot thankfully!) Have a massive bruise on the back of my thigh which really hurt when riding and a cut on my bum.
OH was limbo dancing in the bar (knew I shouldn't have left him with the boys) and lost his balance and hit his head on a bench.
He had an obvious stiff neck and big headache when competing on Sat!
Anyone else done something really stupid at a show?

LOL sorry I do feel for your injuries but it was also funny!

not at a show but I did pull my neck dismantling (couldnt move it for days!) a bridle the other days and also stap my finger on pointy bit of the buckel trying to get a strap in hole...bl**dy new bridles!

LMAO..

Not me personally but i was at a show where there was scaffolding right next to the arena, a horse spooked as it was going past so a woman jumped back and fell backwards over the top bar of the scaffolding flat smack onto the stoney concrete floor. Not too hurt luckily. i think it was more the humiliation..

A good friend of mine died when she fell off the ramp of her lorry at a show

. It was awful, just a stupid accident but she smashed her head and never came out of a coma.

thats awful indeed it does show how little accidents can be fatal.

on a lighter note i was leading my mare in the school where there was a massive gate that was closed -went to push it open as didnt think it was locked and just crashed straight into it and was out cold for a min! when i came to horse was just standing there witht the look that says .... silly you!

I nearly lost my right index finger at my first ever show about 10 years ago, the wagon had no steps so you had to jump out of the living and attach a ladder, I opened the door put a had on either side (one in the hinge) ready to jump out and the wind blew the door shut! the hospital was only 5 minutes away and I knew it was bad when I got tho the front of the triage que for the nurse to see it she was on robot form filling till she saw it then I got taken straight through, got some stick for my breechs and boots from the nurse and I had a huge bandage for weeks as I remember - never had to do a thing at the yard for about a month tho, shows how helpful horsey people are!

haha
Tis only little but still there! They should put a safety warning on those things! Hurts soooo much more than a paper cut!

Not at a show, but preparing the day before, stepped straight out of the living of my lorry, forgetting I had put the steps up and fell like a sack of spuds, I sprained my wrist and grazed my knees - hadnt done that since I was about 10! OH thought it was hilarious

PMSL.....

On my first show with my new pony we had done really well, with a 2nd and a 3rd in the jumping. We were with a friend and then the lorry wouldn't start. Whilst I was walking my pony around for him to graze, some horses came around the corner, he galloped after them, dragging me trying to stop him, whilst doing roly-polys along the floor. Needless to say I was a little bit shocked, and I had a broken wrist and bad grazes. Luckily I was riding with 2 weeks!

Was cleaning tack, and one of the little spikey bits on the buckle (that goes into the hole!? dunno whether it has a proper name!) drove itself into the arch of my foot. Bled a lot - stupid - last time I clean tack sitting on the kitchen floor!

I've managed to pinch my skin while doing up a girth. It was a roller buckle one & pulled the girth strap up so the roller went up the leather, as it came back down I got the skin of one of my fingers caught between the buckle & the leather girth strap

I swore & hopped & held it for a few minutes whilst pony stood there watching me, before turning back to her haynet & giving a heaving sigh!!

Hah, have also had girth-related accident!
Trying to tighten girth with that canter coat stuff on my hands - really slippery, slid off the straps and punched myself in the face! My brother was in hysterics, as I tried to work out what had happened!

Got off my horse to check on a rider that had fallen off she was fine I ended up with two broken metatarsels! Teach me for having a 17.3hh won't it!!!
