Hi, Just about to enter my first jumping event and really could do with a bit of help around what to wear (I'm a guy, guess that makes a difference:-). Got black long boots and getting white breeches, happy with a white shirt....... BUT ..... white tie? Gok Kwan would not approve. Also, horse is a chestnut so would love guidance on colours of boots and rug etc. All tips really welcome.

aha impressed you even know who gok is! on chestnuts def hunter green or navy... works a treat and personally prefer green... white on white is fine dw....

If your just doing local/unaffliliated stuff:
then your black long boots, any hacking jacket type thing (lol!), tie or stock - (you could match it to a browband or horses sj ears if you fancy, i think red looks quite fetching on a chestnut) and a white shirt is all your need, and a hat of course !

it only really gets strict/complicated dressing guides once you start cometing at a level, try not to worry too much about what your wearing, just enjoy yourself :)

As for rugs just pack a cooler for after your horse is finished so he doesnt get chilly

it's all down to personal taste but my chestnut looks nice in navy, red and hunter green. are you talking about travelling gear or numnahs and exercise boots when u ask about colours?
www.nagrags.com - you can pick your own colour combos

That is a massive help, Gok and I thank you :) I reckon that navy is the new black for Rupert lol Seriously, when all my energy is focussed on not riding like a muppet, if I can get the dress protocols out of the way that is great for me. All help is more welcome than you would imagine. j
