Hi,
I bought a suberpad (badged as the previous Ergopad) a few months ago and tho i love the idea of it I am unsure of the fit...
I've used it under my 18" thorowgood dressage saddle a couple of times but I'm unsure if I am meant to pull it up into the gullet like a normal numnah or let it lie flat on the horses back.

If I'm meant to pull it into the gullet I'm worried that it is not 'wide' enough and that the edges will sit right under the saddles padding putting extra pressure on my horses back particularly at the wither end rather than moulding round the saddles padding...

If I'm NOT meant to pull it into the gullet won't it put pressure on the wither itself?

Hope I've explained my problem well enough as I'm hoping those of you out there with them (I'm sure i've seen posts about it on here before) can offer advice.

I'm wary of using it till I know that i'm fitting it correctly as I don't want to make her uncomfortable.

Caroline.

I bought one of these yonks ago because I really like the idea of them but found it impossible to fit under my saddle (treed) and have never used it. I think they are more often used with treeless saddles and so then they wouldn't go into the gullet. I think if you try to shake the cork pieces down away from the middle of the pad it might go up into the gullet a bit more easily but like I say it just didn't sit right under mine so it was a bit of a white elephant for me. Still have it......
