Hi

Viewing horse (BIG FINGERS CROSSED Losing the will etc approx 21)

Have spoken to my vets re pricing of vetting etc but if I like the horse want to take a pre done receipt and leave a deposit "subject to a vetting"

Has anyone got a receipt template or what do I put on exactly?

Name horse & passport no /type of horse/hh/

How do I word it subject to clear vetting????? whats the term and the wording to refund my £100 cash deposit if its all bad! or do I leave a cheque????

Just want to be clear where I stand etc...If there is no queue of people I will go back for 2nd visit with someone experienced fast(unfortunately I have viewed so many that I am told look first then get opinion due to wasting so much time)

I am hoping though I will JUST KNOW like I did with my first boy!

Thanks happy if you want to PM me and I can send my details if anyone has template

cheers(I like the sound of this one somehow???heard before though)!!

I've not done this myself but I believe it would contain all the details of a normal receipt (have a look on here for examples of what ppl include but certainly price would be one) but say 'subject to vetting' as well.

add your address and sellers.. if the sods leg it with your money at least you know where they live:D

so worded something like..

I ... of (adress) agree to purchase said horse subject to fully passing a 5 stage vetting, a deposit of 100 has been left with... miss.. OF.. (address) which is fully returnable is said horse fails the vetting for any reason

for it to be worht the paper its written on, your siggie sellers siggi and a witness siggie

Thank You very much I will also take note of any car registrations as I am meeting them at a yard but they are bringing all the horses history ie previous 2 vettings for me to see and I am hoping if it goes well I can use their current insurance company(but they have to agree to this apparently etc then I can continue this).

But in case they leg it with my dosh..........! Yes always a risk..!

Will prepare a doc tonight but no doubt being a pessimistic I just hope this is not horse viewing 22!! They sound ok..so far! No lies and have answered all my questions with honesty.

Be careful about saying "failed" vetting as the vet judges whether the horse is fit for purpose so if you're looking for a gentle happy hacker it would likely "fail" a vetting as a 3* eventer. What I'm trying to say is it could get awkward if the vet would pass the horse as a happy hacker but not as a competition horse when that is what you're after...

Maybe say "subject to vet's approval for X, Y and Z" or something.

I actually just scrawled "deposit received subject to vetting" on an envelope and left £200 with them when I bought my boy in March. Am lucky they were so honest...!!!

I am also in the process of having a horse vetted. In Holland if the horse fails the vetting for purpose then the seller pays the vetting fee.

Not the same in the UK then?
