Such a cowbag

What happened in the minutes before this incident?

I would say from that short clip that you can't allow that to happen again, it is unfair to the collie. Can you separate them when you can't watch them?

Did the lurcher wake up first of all because they thought they heard something? And then tried to alert the collie as they wanted collie up and alert to some sort of threat too?

Mine have a similar sort of dynamic if one is alerted to a perceived danger they instantly turn to the other one to join in with the burglar alert system. But certainly not so aggressively as the lurcher seems with collie.

Or was collie growling or whimpering in their sleep maybe?

With little context, this is similar to my read - although I suspected it may be misdirected arousal, or indeed a habitual stress-release response given your comment on high energy play, at whatever put the lurcher on alert.

Similar to if one of my dog hears a fox outside he may grab and shake a toy as his arousal outlet.

If you already know why it happened, why are you asking why other people's opinion?

It was meant as a casual bit of fun.

Why is the dog an ass hole.

I can't be bothered. It was more trouble than its worth.

I had pulled out the side table to clean behind it and had forgot to put it back. As a result, the crate isn't easily accessible so instead of going into her crate as usual, the Collie chose the single chair instead.

The Lurcher has slept in that single chair every night for the past four years. As the cover is pinned against the wall, she gets herself under it to keep warm.

She was clearly fed up of waiting for the Collie to move, had gotten cold by this point and decided enough was enough, she wanted her chair back.

That is why I am happy it was an isolated incident. I moved things about and didnt put them back.

I messed up the ambience. Much like I appear to have done this morning.

I didn't see the video/angle etc and this may not be relevant but ignore if necessary, but I stopped filming one of my dogs ten years ago as it was clearly making him uncomfortable/unhappy having a phone near him, so I stopped as it wasn't fun for him, there was absolutely no reason for me to create the conflict as I was making videos for me, not him.

It's also hard to intervene in any sort of potential conflict (which can happen, unfortunately) if you're holding something you have to then get rid of.

I told a boarding kennels who posted pics of their client dogs eating out of a bowl on Facebook (why???) and I asked them politely not to do that.
Lo and behold what did I see a few days later but a picture from the other side of the kennel, at floor level, ears flattened and the whites of his eyes showing. Great, a dog who hates cameras and is normally left alone when eating out of a bowl, behind a barrier but sure, a whole loada trigger stacking!

OP, you've said that thing about ambiance before, it's really not that deep, people having a different opinion to you doesn't mean you're being persecuted, it's just life, if you put something on an open forum, people will comment on it, I know for me human feelings come second to how the dog might be feeling 🤣

It was a house camera but all good points.

I'm off out day drinking in a while and just couldn't be assed. I just though, if I don't stop now, I'll come home four cocktails deep and start being extra nobby.

Ambience is a fantastic word. I don't know what to tell you.

Ah I see. I was just worried in case a phone/object might have been pouring petrol on the fire. It's my staff do tonight (all two of us 🤣) I shall be thinking of you at this difficult time!
Grumpy dog also HATES me when I am drunk so I shall walk him very carefully and quietly and will try not to sing too much.

I saw the video and thought it was really interesting, I'm still doing my best to learn to read dogs and this kind of video then explanation is very useful. Sorry you felt the need to remove it. Perhaps future threads (yours and others') should differentiate between "educational" and "Help! What's going wrong?" videos so that people know what they are responding to.
I also like that it's a very simple explanation to the video that you knew because you know your dogs and their habbits so well.

I do agree, if I’m filming while training the dogs see me holding my hand up to my face… what does that mean? Stop? Go back? So they tend to dither to a halt and/ or carry and deliver the retrieve badly. Then you see people showing videos ‘why won’t my dog retrieve to hand’ and you think, cos it doesn’t understand.
Anyway, I get that’s not what happened here.
