As Mr B is showing signs of mild sweet itch this year I have bought him a snuggy hood sweet itch rug. As I didn't want to risk getting it dirty, I brought him out of the stable into the courtyard. Then I discovered I needed to take his head collar off, then I hadn't read the instructions and hadn't undone all the velcro bits so it got stuck on his head, then i couldn't quite work out which bits went where (I really am quite hopeless!) Eventually I got it on and it's a great fit, so I took it off. I forgot to undo all the velcro so I got it stuck on his head again. Poor boy just stood happily while I messed him around, then to cap it all, I went and put the rug away completely forgetting he was loose in the courtyard I came back to find him standing quietly exactly where I'd left him. Thank goodness he's a bit more sensible than his mum!

I got one for my youngster a couple of years a go and had a similar experience! They are amazing little rugs though really made a massive difference to my girl :) I'd love to get one on my new girl but she's a bit flighty and ripped the second hand fly rug I got her within a week so 've ordered a cheapish fly rug to try next week and if it survives I will work towards a snuggy hood :) xx

Yep, not exactly the same but I have def been glad of a sensible horse when I've forgotten to undo leg or belly straps and rug was left hanging round his legs. And I've also done the getting snuggy hood stuck over the face business. Different horses and over a long stretch of time (honest, I'm not incompetent!) but these things happen.

To prove that my horse can be as dizzy as me, this is F looking guilty after trampling on the skipping out bucket the other day...

Well he may have been trying to get on my good side again as he was a bit naughty out hacking today and I got quite cross. I've stopped the rushing home bit but he was very "head tossy" today. He had a ride on fly rug on and was covered in fly spray but he was just so twitchy and silly however as soon as he got in sight of home he became Mr Dobbin. Now I need to figure out how to stop him being silly mid ride, bloomin horses! Do love him though!

My problem is I an never be bothered to read instructions, on anything!
