I've never managed to achieve this with Ned, he's always been so spooky and he rears too. I've only tried going in the school alone once before, but I figured since I had no one to ride with, I'd take Nutty Ned in and try once more.
I put his new Dually on him and walked him on a lunge first, just to show him the corners weren't going to eat him. He was brilliant and we even trotted over a little jump!
When my mother arrived (just in case something went wrong!) I got on and walked very calmly, slowly and quietly around, showing him the corners again.
Eventually I progressed to a trot and he was very good! Only having a little spook at a scary white pole on the floor.
I popped over a few jumps, which you can see in the video :D I'm so glad my nutter is calming down a bit and getting to trust me.
It may not look like much, but it's really made my day!!

You must be so pleased:D. I love the matchy matchy too - i think the color really suits! Can I ask where you got your jacket from? :)

ETA - and you won't be running out of hay this winter by the looks of things  :p :D

fab well done!
Sorry to be a pain, but when your jumping on the ground be careful about your positioning, especially with a spooky horse as in the 2nd jump pic you look in front of him, if his back leg had caught and he's panicked you may have been sqiuidged... :( (have been squidged myself before :o )

But ace, fingers crossed everything will carry on going right for you :D

Beyond_Birthday: Thanks :D That jacket's a super old purchase from New Look XD, I think it was on sale or something? I've had it for about 4 or 5 years :P
And I've no idea where she gets that hay from or why she had so much!! (Not my yard...or even my horse haha! I'm just the only one who rides him, or bothers to do any 1 on 1 work with him)

ScarlettLady: Thanks ^^ Yea, I was quite aware after I'd jumped that he was right behind me :P I've never really jumped on the ground before (And I don't think he's ever jumped without a rider either!), but luckily over those mini jumps he was being a plod! Hopefully I'll get some more practice in, so I can learn how to do it a bit better and actually get him moving and position myself better :)
