Another little step down the road, but Chancer who is now rising 4 was ridden by my instructor for the first time on Saturday.
So far he has only ever been ridden by me and a couple of teenage girls so to take a man was another big step. My instructor is not that big, but obviously weighs more and has long legs.
Chancer went like a dream. My instructor said he really likes him and rode him for 10 mins, working at a nice walk on the bit. I now am fairly happy that when he will be ridden by judges later he seems to accept different without a fuss.
I finished with a 10 min solo hack through a very flooded bridleway which he did without a problem even though in some parts of the water was well over his fetlocks, he has only done puddles to date.
I am so proud of him - I image it is a bit like seeing your child starting "big school".
