I am so worried! Jumped my horse this evening and when walking I noticed a clicking sound coming from, I think, left hind fetlock joint. This has never happened before. Trotted her, and absolutely fine, so jumped - after a few fences, noticed she wasn't quite getting her left hind underneath her properly so pulled up. She is not really lame, but not really sound, and the clicking joint must be directly related to this as it happened at the same time. Cold hosed her but no swelling/heat yet.
Obviously this is very recent and I have to wait and see what she is like tomorrow, and get the vet out - but does anyone have any idea what this might be? I know that clicking is to do with lack of synovial fluid etc but thought this was normally caused by degenerative things like arthritis - and this seems more acute?
Any thoughts at all?
