My four year old Rottie bitch is in season, no problem there, regular, no odd stuff going on until yesterday. Took the dogs out for their walk, came back, let them out into the garden before doing the horses, off to do horses, back about two hours later, dogs let out again. So far so good until she walked across the lounge, paused and just peed. Lots! Distracted her and sent her out again, thought it was a bit strange but that was it. Went to feed them in their room, wet patch on floor that must have appeared when we went out to do the horses. Desperate to go out this morning but dry overnight. Another puddle has appeared in the dog room and she's asking to go out about every hour. She's fine in herself, not straining to wee, wee is normal colour, no bad smells, nothing. Just lots and lots of it! She's not drinking any more than usual either.

Where is it all coming from, and why!? Is it due to her season maybe, although she's never been so wet before. If she doesn't dry up soon (ie by tonight) she'll be off to the vet.

She might have a UTI, take her to the vet, take a samle (use an empty Chinese takeaway tray or similar).
I don't mean to worry you but if she is open, bred from or not, she is at risk of pyometra and excessive urination can be one of the symptoms.

What CC said, urine test asap, as we know UTI are horrendous, my rott has had a few and she was treat immediately, she never made a fuss but she was wanting to go out every ten mins with normal flow.
They do urinate more frequently in season but not generally randomly on the floor inside when once a clean dog.

Thanks for the tip about the takeaway container, great idea. I managed to find one, waited for the beastie to want to go out, and..............nothing. Waited a bit longer, still nothing, so I thought I'd give her until the morning and if she was still peeing pints I'd give the vet a ring first thing. Nothing unusual at all. So I kept a close eye on her all day and she seems to be completely back to normal. Weird. I still have my pee pot on standby but for now she seems absolutely fine. Only thing I can think of is that she consumed something that irritated her bladder and it has now passed through.

Still keeping an eye on her though, just in case.

Thanks for all your help! :)
