Ancient thin shettie has gone down with laminitis, so watch out after this last lot of rain !

Sorry to hear about your shettie. We are watching all ours like a hawk, bright green grass sprouting up everywhere at the moment.

Yes my bald paddock that my lad nibbles at has more grass sprouting now, but I am keeping him in a routing of being off the grass and on year old hay each night (10 hours) to counteract any problems, well exercised and vigilant to pulses etc. He is lovely and slim and has been all summer so that will help too.

aww sorry to hear about your shettie hope its not too bad and recovers quickly. We too have had a spurt, gone from bald paddocks to grasssy paddocks, i'm bringing mine in for 10 hours each night to get them off it for a bit.

Sorry to hear that hope he recovers okay.

I went to an equine evening hosted by my vets last week and he said that they hadn't had that many cases of laminitis this summer but expected lots after this last batch of rain
