I am contemplating buying a Sue Carson saddle and I just wondered if anyone can tell me what they think of the saddles and also the service provided. I heard from a few people who use the saddles that the service can be very expensive and from one who actually said that the service wasn't good... however they do seem happy with the saddles generally. I would appreciate any feedback, positive or negative before i splurge!!
Thanks

Can only tell you the feedback from someone we know who invested in one of these. Customer service great when buying, promised the earth in terms of back up afterwards. Which didn't come to fruition when needed.

Search Sue Carson threads..... or google.
We had one that was used on two of our horses (not at the same time), and it's now with a very thrilled para rider.
I think they are great for young horses who are changing shape, and the latest dressage saddles are flocked at the back which I personally think is better.
Ultimately you will hear good and bad - just do you research because they're not cheap.

There are bad reviews on here, BUT I was talking to a Master Saddler yesterday who really knows his stuff and I asked about them, he said the product is very good, it depends on the ability of the fitter (as with WOWs etc.) I've heard bad things about their Customer Service after you've bought the saddle but tbh that applies to most companies imho!

we have one for one of our horses and have been very happy with. if we have a problem we usually wait till we are at a competition where an agent may be and get them to look at it then, so have had very good service and the horse is very happy with it.
we find different makes of saddle suit different horses so have a variety,

I agree with what has been said above I like the saddle but JUST out of the 2 year guarantee the tree was found to be broken. (After a lot of research I have struggled to find another saddle company that offer less than a 5 year guarantee). It is a dressage saddle and I know that it has not been fallen on etc. The general concensus from other saddlers is that there must have been a weakness for the damage that has been done. I was quoted (I cant even remember just under £400 to repair it?) over a year later I still have a very expensive and unusable saddle.

said before after care/ saddle checks etc expensive and not great in my experiences. We now have a master saddler who also deals with flair come and alter them which is much more reasonable! ;)

I must also add that the carson saddle in question has been commented on by a couple of saddlers that for how much they are they don't think they are that well made, we've been advised that where the tubing has been places within the saddle will split eventually as it has been placed in the incorrect position, which is concerning me.

Saying all that I would have one second hand again but definitely wouldn't pay the new price tag, as the horse does seem to like it which is surely the best critique! :)

I have a sue carson for about 5 years and love it, I get it checked every 6 month and have had no problems with the saddle or any of the service. Also dont think unreasonable priced to come out as they take there time, dont rush and always happy to answer any of my questions (occasionaly silly one's :D). I suppose it depense on the area but I will def get another for my youngster when he is ready.

I have had mine for 9 months - great saddle and great service (Kent area). This is now saddle number 5 for my mare as she is an awkward shape - and at last I find a very knowledgeable saddler!
