As title really - we have a couple of suede Stubben jumping saddles, which we use a suede brush on, to lift the nap of the leather - get it "fluffed" again.

What products does anyone use to get the dirt out? The brush only lifts the nap - doesn't get the grease out.....

thanks for all bright ideas!!

I just bought a suede saddle which was filthy! Doesnt look like new but managed to clean it a fair bit by:
Steaming it - putting boiled water in a boul and balancing the saddle over it.
Wiping with a damp cloth
Scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush gently.

There are cleaning preparations for suede boots that might work. They usually come with a scrubbing pad, then you wipe the foam off and the dirt with it. I would probably avoid the ones that also treat the leather though, as they might make it slippery.

I've got a suede seat and knee rolls for my saddle.

I was advised that the best thing to do is to use a rubber suede brush to buff it up; but if its really dirty to use a tiny bit of carpet cleaner solution in warm water and sponge off gently with that, to remove grease etc.

What I do if I have to ride in the rain is to use a waterproof saddle cover which will protect it - I'm way too precious over my lovely saddle I know!!
