My daughter is 10 she's a confident rider can walk, trot, canter and loves to jump. She sadly isn't able to have her own pony (finances!) but is pony mad and totally confident around horses/ponies, tacks up, grooms mucks out catches in etc etc. She gets to ride some of the liveries where my horse is stabled, but unfortunately most are just too big for her including my horse! I would love to take her for a day or a weekend so she can have a great time and her dream is to gallop on a beach!!

I have done some looking around on the internet and in the back of magazines but most places seem to just do this sort of riding for adults. If anyone has any suggestions on where we can go so she can have a good ride, and not plod along behind beginners, I would really appreciate it!

We are in the South East/London but would be happy to go as far as the New Forest/South Coast or up to the Cotswolds maybe further too if it includes beach riding! so not looking for a place that does pony days or kids weekends, as i said above she knows how to look after a pony etc, she just wants to do some exciting rides!

It's a little far but Wheal Buller in Cornwall is fab. It's the yard I ride at all year long and have been up there for going on 3 years now. Google Cornish Riding Holidays and you will find it. They are very popular, very experienced with children and offer lessons, xc on site, and they box the ponies to the beach. I've been on 3 beach rides with them and they really are fabulous...

Try Studland Stables in Dorset??

I can't see an age limit on their website and the beach rides are really good, so are the ones up on Old Harry Rocks. Really friendly people too, I'm going for an evening ride with them in a few weeks. Oh yeah only thing is beach riding is banned there over the summer months but they do evening rides til July and day rides from September I think??

I looked at that one saw their ad in the back of a magazine but it looks like they just cater for adults, looking at the size of their horses too they are pretty big! Thanks anyway!
