After having the last two seasons off having a baby (my horse also having a foal), I hope to hit the indoor circuit this winter, time/baby allowing.

Needless to say, my wobbly bits are a bit more wobbly than they were before and as I work on toning everything back up, I need to equip myself with some new competition breeches. I don't want to spend megabucks but I do want a decent pair that hold everything in and don't show up every flaw lurking beneath if you know what I mean??!!

Can you lovely HHOs offer any suggestions?

I LOVE my Pikeur Lugana ones which I got in the Derby House sale so not ridiculously pricey but not cheap. Nice and stretchy but decent thickness of material. I pick to wear them all the time over my others.

My caldene ones are lovellyyyyy. not sure what style they are, but they are high waisted full seat sticky bums. and they arent rediculously expensive either at about £60 (although i managed to pick mine up for £25 in a cosing down sale) ;)

Think you're talking about the Belgrade jods - they are really nice. Personally I prefer the Mark Todd Gisborne jods but guess it depends on your personal shape and style

Thanks guys,

Well, I popped into Derby House this afternoon as I happened to be down that way ;) but nothing in my size to even bother trying on. Unless you were stick thin or on the larger side (of which I am neither), there was virtually nothing.

Quite disappointed, although perhaps it might mean I will have to go to rideaway instead for a mooch :D

i'm exactly the same as above, have just bought a pair of pikeur lugana from derby house - down to £60 from £75, i think theyre still in the sale, and are really nice and comfortable :)

Another Pikeur fan here - good value and last well. Re: sizing - not sure what size you are but, if it helps, I'm a size 8 and take a 24"

I wear Pikeur Ciara in the cream colorway - not a fan of skin-tight breeches and these have a nice cut with a low waist and pockets...

i wear cavallos- the cheaper ones (about £90) i know they are quite pricey but they are very good value and last for ages! :) i am short and stumpy and find them the most flattering style (well as flattering as skin tight trousers can be!)

Hi,

I know this thread is quite old, but I was wondering if anyone could comment on the sizing of Pikeurs. I'm interested in a pair (online) of Ciara's and don't know if I should size up/down, or if they are true to size. Thanks for any help! :)

I bought a pair of pikeur Lugana recently in a sale. They are really comfortable, lovely soft material but unfortunately they don't hold in my wobbly bits. I wouldn't recommend them for that reason. I am in my 40's and prefer something a bit more structured around the tummy ;) I really like Townend Cavalier breeches as they feel like they hold me in more as they have a wide waistband and two pockets which is more flattering. I would recommend these but I can't find any in competition colours. Sorry so not much help really!!

I swear by my Pegasus full seat breeches: gorgeous fit, and about the only non-flimsy things I've ever found thin enough to fit in my much-beloved but rather snug Hawkins long boots. They're a little over £50 at full whack, but mine were £25 in a sale somewhere, and are still going strong after over a year of being more or less my only pair of breeches (technically I have others, but I like the Pegasus ones better; so I wear them unless they're in the wash).

Not 100% sure if you can get the full-seat ones in cream/beige, as I have brown ones to match my side-saddle habit, but the non full-seat version (just suede-y knee patches) definitely do, and they're slightly cheaper to boot.
