Suggestions for proven eventing TB stallion

As above - I am going to put my 15.2 ID x TB mare into foal next year. She is bombproof with good conformation, perhaps a bit light of bone if I have any complaints. I am looking for a full TB to put in a bit of quality and speed for eventing. I would like to use something that has a proven competition record - not just racing with a good temprement.

There is virtually no choice in Cumbria and although I am not adverse to travelling a couple of hours, I would prefer to use frozen semen (obviously not often used with TBs). Do not want to use anything too big, probalby between 16-16.2hh

Does anyone have any suggestions and or comments??
 
what about Endoli i think he stands up your way? hes sired some nice event types including Apauche sauce (mary king) and Beckli both 4* eventers.
 
Funnily enough, I did have Endoli on my (very long) list but I had crossed him off as he has only got a racing history - I didn't realise that he had eventing prodigy. Very interesting, thank you
 
My own Weston Justice is a 3/4 star eventing stallion who is 15/16th TB. His frozen is of very good quality, we are expecting foals to him in USA in2008 and he has got 18year old maiden mares in foal with his frozen. Look on BE eventing site for his record which you will see is very consistant.
 
horsenut - no I don't have any info on Sirens missile, just what I've seen on the website that MFH_09 sent. Do you have any info??

maestro - Weston Justice was on my list of possibles but from looking at previous forums, Criminal Laws temprement was queried. What is WJs temp like?

My mare looks after me 100% when out jumping/hacking etc but she can be quite moody, scowls etc but never kicks, rears or anything like that. I could do with a laid back type of a guy to match her with, pref with a bit of bone.

I saw him as a yearling then he was put away to grow up. When we collected Swallow this year, Trudy showed us his cutting's book and he does look like a good sort; his Dad wouldn't be ashamed of him! If you follow the link I posted above, there is a page for him with more pictures, only thing is I don't think they've put his height but if I remember rightly, he had just grown too big for hack classes, so plus 15.3 and he could well have grown a bit more by now which will be a handy size for a lot of people.
 
yes they admit it's not the best quality, though they got mares in foal with it last year. My mare is 20 now but if she was younger I'd risk it again as he really complemented her

Re: Mayhill. Having had an Irish Draught mare that failed to get in foal after 3 attempts with ID semen that I didn't know was poor qualiity until after I bought it and tried it, I wouldn't want to risk it again. I must admit, I am leaning towards Weston Justice at the mo and had already asked for his stud card before maestro (above) replied.

I have contacted one or two studs but some haven't even bothered getting back to me which is very off putting and one in Cornwall had been honest enough to say that her stallions' semen does not freeze well so does not offer it - which is a shame as I don't think I would be happy leaving my mare so far away from home.

I know of Irish Draught bloodlines but have not delved into TB before - hence the advice required. My mare is by Primo Pageant an HIS sire who is now in Ireland.

I also liked the pictures of One More Tiger, Pulsingh, Mourne Mountains & Primative Proposal if anyone has anything by them or knows anything about them.

Would that be Kings Composer? My 2yo is by him and is a star temperament wise! His dam can be a little sharp, though sweet with it. He is very bold - nothing seems to phase him. He's a County Show winner and was Top Eventing Yearling at one of the BEF venues last summer - making him 3rd best in the country overall!
 
SN - it was, really liked the look of him and have been giving it serious thought but I think from Cumbria to Cornwall would be too far for a natural covering.
 
Jo Macinnes at Whalton Stud near Penrith has a lovely TB stallion called Mount Holly. VERY well bred, quite small and compact (16 hands) and nice and local to you. There are already some nice foals and yearlings by him, well worth talking to her.
 
Thanks Tanta - Mount Holly is just under 16hh and I have put in my "too small" bracket. My mare is only 15.2 so was looking to breed up a bit - obviously no guarantees in breeding but the less risks, hopefully the better outcome

Good luck! We bred 2 foals from my 16.3 irish thoroughbred - both times put her to Java Tiger, who was about 16.2. The first foal was 15.3 and ordinary, the second 17 hands and amazing (called Paper Tiger, we have him competing with Ruth Edge). Just shows what a lottery breeding is, and I only wish he had a third with the same breeding! Shows how the first foal can be so much smaller though, and worth having another if you can to see what they can really produce.
 
Ann's foal is lovely, and I think she has another due by Mount Holly this year.

My mare had her first foal at 15 (she had an injury so as she had been a good mare and moved well, we wanted to breed from her). She produced 2 foals with no bother. It was all very exciting, and lovely to be able to breed something special you could never go out and buy. Hope yours works out well!
 
Hopefully you've heard of Jaguar Mail by now. In 2007 he covered Headley's Brittania, The Wexford Lady, Fachoudette, Winsome Adante's mother and sisters (sadly Embryos didn't stick), and Bruce Davidson's Jam (10th Burghley). There's a reason that they all used him, even though they were all being offered free coverings from UK stallions.

OK, so he's not pure tb, but his father is Hand in Glove and his Grandfather is Laudanum, then Almé Z and Gotthard, so the foundation is French/Hanovarian, but the top side has stacks of blood.

His frozen semen is superb quality.

I have a Jaguar Mail foal arriving in 6 days time out of a Corrado x Sacramento Song xx mare, can't wait.
