Has anyone used these? If so what do you think. What size will I probably need for a 16.1 lightish weight tb?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have 2,they are brill.
phone them regarding size, they are very helpful.

um
i think mine are `large` size for my cob,i bought one off a tb friend and it fitted the tb and my cob equally well.

Bought one about a month ago and my (grey!) girl has lived out in 24/7 during all the snow and rain and freezing temps and has kept her clean and warm and dry. Mine has a zip and ears and was pleased that I did get the ears put in because someone told me they had bought me without ears and it was terrible because she spent ages getting mud out of her horses ears !

Was a bit wary about leaving them on / turning out 24/7 as people have told some horrific stories about them moving and covering the eyes - so far I have not noticed it budge one inch.

I cant say my mare likes it particularly - she always likes me giving her a good brush / scratch there when its off - but for me it was my best buy of 2009!

She is 15.1 connemara cross and I originally bought the cob size but had to exchange it for full size as it was too small

I lvoe mine!!! When I can, I'm going to send them back to have ears put on....even if they don't usually get dirty ears, I'm sure they do when they have the hoods on.

I love my snuggy hood - my disgusting wallowing hippo of a TB needs it so I can see at least one square inch of his natural colour. I had ears put in this year as last year he managed to get himself covered via the ear holes. Perfect - now he just gets slightly muddy eyes.

it has never slipped or rubbed him

and the horse he shares a field with - an ID XConn just to prove the field is not a total mud wallow.

I have a Snuggy Hood for Star, But have not used it much. However, it never budged when it WAS used!

It seems your horse believes in the cleansing power of mud facials.....LOL He must have a lot of fun in the field.

My horse has nothing bit fun in his field, he is out with my other 3 horses and he plays all the time, bouncing around like Tigga and he loves loves loves mud. he just collapses in the gateway and wriggles for ages. I actually hose him down with his rug on as teh mud is so thick I cannot find the buckles/clips!!

OMG - what a mud lover your horse is Bosworth! Mine have on occasion come in and needed hosing before the rug is taken off, but thank heavens not very often. Out of interest what boots have you got on him? I have tried Equilibrium close contact chaps and Sportabac turnout socks but as my TB's both have very flat feet, I find it hard to get them to fit. (Horse came in with a serious over reach last time she wore them.)

Haniki. my horse although a TB actually has good shaped feet - but we have a fantastic farrier who is extremely foot proud so that really helps. he is a lunatic in the field and I do loose an awful lot of shoes if I don't put over reach boots on in the summer. But in winter the turnout chaps work well to prevent the mud fever he is prone to. On the front he has the Equilibrium close contact chaps. size 2 ( he has only got thin legs) and on the back he has teh Sportabac turnouts. Both work well, but I leave them on for 48 hours and then replace with a clean pair. I never try and take off and put back on as the mud is so thick the don't stay on.

Also it is vital that the boots fit closely and are done up very tightly, mine never come down and protect teh legs well. in the photo above the boots have been on 48 hours. He has been in mud up to his knees and they have moved slightly but still remained tight. He has never pulled a shoe off while wearing them - which to be honest is a bloody miracle as he is such a pratt.

Lucky you to have a TB with good feet! One reason I gave up with the Equilibrium close contact chaps was because they were so fiddly to do up/undo - I have Raynaulds syndrome so my fingers go numb quickly. Interesting that you leave them on for 48 hours. I don't get much mud fever since we have stoned the gate ways. One advantage of this cold weather the horses stay cleaner as the mud is frozen!

Wow Bosworth!! loving the pictures, dont think il ever complain about a muddy horse again!! Several people in our yard use them, 2 examples are the grey show cob & 1 for the TB bay eventer & they swear by them! theyv never moved & seem to do the job perfectly!!
