Living as far out in the sticks as we do we thought it would be great for Evie to do a weeks Horse Camp in the summer.
Just been looking up a few places (7 just in Ontario for a start) and I am totally flabbergasted at the cost! From $465 (5 days) - $1350 for a week! (Roughly half that for pounds sterling) Now, I understand that these places have to make a profit obviously, have horses, staff, food etc, etc to pay for but am I totally out of touch thinking that these prices are astronomical, or are they comparable to UK prices?

I think the last activity holiday Evie attended with the school was 200 GBP a couple of years ago.
We may have to rethink summer plans!

The camp I was working at was $1100 USD for a weeks riding camp or $1875 USD for 2 weeks general camp. I couldn't believe it was so much but people are willing to pay it. Plus the camp I was at was one of the best in the states. But compared to when I paid £150 for 5 days at Pony Club camp - ok so we brought our own horses - but the price difference is quite big.

I am definitely out of touch with it all. I'm afraid E is going to have to miss out on this aspect of Canadian life for now.
I have just booked tickets home to France for a month instead, she'd probably rather see her Grandparents for a few weeks anyhow.

5 day 10-4 non-residential camp at my RS costs about £300 if not more this year.

Think it depends on what you're actually getting for your money. For instance PC camp isn't cheap is it?
