Summer coat/winter coat comparisons

I've just posted some pictures on another thread and while looking through photobucket, noticed how different my pony looks in his summer and winter coat.

So here is my Haflinger in his winter woolies and then his summer wear. Lets see yours too

(excuse the terrible feet in the summer shot. He was in bad shape when I bought him and he had a full set of shoes on which were all hanging off. These were the resulting feet)

Oooh! He's lovely. Very similar colouring to my foalie woalie. I'm waiting for my foal to grow a summer coat. I'll come back to you when it appears!

Mine's a varnish roan appy so he changes all yr round. Even his spots move from summer to winter

SUMMER:

WINTER (think this was spring actually):

In between he loses the dark points/stifle. This is actually the oldest of the three pictures.

And this one was taken a few weeks ago... I don't know how he stays so clean!

Wow! What a difference!

Haha! He varies from very gingery brown with dark points in the spring/summer, chocolate brown in autumn and very black (although still with dark points) in winter.
