I'm hoping to put my boys out together over summer ( if we get any summer!!) . Grazing is fairly poor but they do seem to have their heads down all day!! I feed ad lib hay all summer as well. My 27yo wb is starting to feel his age so I don't want too much weight on his joints. My tb can look lean but never poor and usually does fine once grass starts to come through. As the horses will hopefully be together I'm thinking of cutting out the hard feed as this has previously caused arguments. Of course ican feed separately if needed but just wondering if anyone else totally stops with the hard feed in spring and summer?

I've always fed at least one feed a day. I don't feed supplements and my boys currently look fantastic. If either drop weight I will of course feed again.
Yeah, i think you have to gauge for yourself what you think, i admittedly do not feed as much in the summer, in winter he gets two huge feeds a day 😃
