Need to nip out in my lunch break to buy a new summer turnout as the one I have is useless!! Any tips? I have a masta lightweight and it slips over to the right so yesterday his right side was lovely and dry and his left side soaking wet! It also is a bad fit round the neck and all the water runs down his neck and he gets soaking shoulders!

Am thinking possibly Amigo summer turnout or Weatherbeeta landa lite ............. would love to get a Rambo as I have a duo for colder weather and the fit is brill on him but they are lots of pennies!! Anyone know if the fit on Amigo is pretty much same as Rambo? Do they stay in place??

i have a William funnell roystan, and thats really good, cuase i find that my rambo duo outer layer is 2 think 4 the hot weather! i have also found that the amigo rugs are good value for money but my horse has quite big shoulders so it rubbed her.

I agree with the Weatherbeta Landa Lite, fab rugs, all three of mine are currently wearing theirs - they don't slip and have shoulder gussets which I find always helps to create a nice fit.

I had a Amigo L/W but found it in the field it 2 pieces on friday (it leaked any way so a new 1 was on the cards!) so went out and bought a Landa lite, even after all the rain we had over the W/E the girly was all dry, even after a good roll and scrabble around in the mud (rug isn't looking so new anymore tho

Very impressed with it so far and it only cost me £34

If you are going to get an Amigo lightweight, get the 1200 denier one which I think only comes in navy. Its waterproof rather than showerproof.

I have my boys in these and they stay cool and dry in the worst downpour. The summer ones are only 600 denier (I think) and they do seem to only be able to withstand drizzle!

Thx - hv just been on phone to local saddlery and they hv just had delivery of Amigo turnout lites which I like sound of as they have the option for neck attachment which the summer turnouts don't hv so think I might try one of those on him. (so can put the neck on if its really really wet weather!!) Will check out the WB landa lites while I'm there cos I like 'em too, sooo many options just can't decide - if I had my way he'd have one of every type!!! Hehe!

100 % The amerigo turnout- I have hard them for years on all our horses- never slipped, leaked or come off
Cannot recommend enough! they are great for my horses which are really deep bodied and chunkier round the chest- only rugs I have found that REALLY fit.!

I have a landa on Cairo and a shires typhoon on Chancer, also have the MW amigo for Chancer - all three are excellent rugs.

There is also a cheap rug called the Cotswold for sale on e-bay excellent value - I had one for Chancer until he outgrew it.

Have a Summer turnout Amigo which has lasted well for the last 4 years apart from the lining splitting along the seams from the strain of a 700kg hunk rolling in it. Probably could do with a reproof as it has let the persistant rain of the last few days in.

Managed to get the Amigo turnout lite in his size so will try it on tonight - hope it fits!!! Was bit miffed tho as wanted to get the hood which yes, they did hv in stock but the rug they r selling is navy, navy/white binding and the hoods are navy/silver and look really different! Is it just me or is that a bit odd? If I'm gonna spend the money I'd rather hv it matching! Now hv a marathon hunt on my hands for matching hood!

I know - hv been v dissappointed with the masta, it looks nice on him, untill he moves !! Hv had someone else say they had same probs with them and that the x-sircingles kept slipping and getting long and her horses legs kept getting trapped when he rolled. Will def be keeping well clear of the masta's in future! May suit some but not mine! Fingers x'd the amigo that is currently sitting on the back seat of my car will be lovely!

Have to disagree about the landa I'm afraid

but mine was a rubbidh fit, leaked like crazy and he trashed it within a month. I replaced it with the Shires one - brilliant fir and 1200 denier so more tough and waterproof
