I use the Boots Soltan Kids Factor 50. Its is waterproof and contains a fly repellant as well. It is not too expensive and is often available on bogof. Would highly recommend.
Try a kids sun stick rather than cream, like a lipstick you dont end up with cream all over you and can hold horses nose and just rub on - like you would a child !!!!!!!
And keep in a fridge not on yard in the sun!!!!
Oooooooh sunnymane! Didn't know E45 do a factor 50 suncream! My rescue mare burns terribly as she has severe ragwort poisoning which actually ATTRACTS the sun. Stir in her pink nose and muzzle and you'll get the idea. I slap sun cream on like it's going out of fashion but it gets rubbed off really quickly. She has to come in during the day as she burns so badly but she still needs protection from even early morning sunlight, late afternoon sunlight and overcast days. E45 here I come!
Sudocreme. 70% zinc cream which is 100% sun block. We have a cob who has the biggest pinkest nose imaginable. With a daily application of sudocreme it remains blister free no matter how hot.
I got terribly sunburnt last weekend. I nicked some of the horses sudocreme a few days later & my arms & thraot went from sore red to soft pink within a few hours!!
