Don't get caught out with this glorious sunshine, i just have. Pony found looking very quiet with a big belly in the field and slightly strong pulses. Been kicked into a stable with soaked hay and a bit of bute for the night...of course he perked up when he realised he wasn't staying with the others for the night but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Isn't footy and no reaction to having his sole prodded but I know a quiet almost sleepy pony is usually an early warning sign for him! So don't get caught out...our fields are knackered but after one full day of sun it causes problems! Muzzles on tomorrow!

I had this last week, same response in terms of regime. People must think I'm nuts muzzling when there appears to be only a tiny bit of growth but I don't care! She seems to sleep and rest a lot more with it on though, I was worried at first but I think she can't be bothered with the hassle of trying to eat short stubbly grass (we have sheep on it too) with it on. I read that they tend to rest more with muzzles on anyway so hopefully that's why.

If she hadn't had it on and was acting in the same way I would be seriously worried...!
