My Arab has a pink nose, sensitive to the sun. I manage it by bringing in during the day and/or sunblock.

I remember reading somewhere a while back that a lady used indian ink on her Lipizzaner horses' noses with success.

I am not willing to try it on a heresay - has anyone else heard of this?

Sorry, not much help with your indian ink question...
I used to use factor 50 baby suncream (only thing horse wasn't allergic to!) but my mare would rub it off in about 2 seconds. I've now got her out in a fieldsafe headcollar with a UV net sewn onto the noseband (sewing it on has saved me hours looking for the net when it's fallen off); she also has UV boots on her back legs. They make her look extremely odd (I've had a lot of comments!) but seem to have done the trick so far (just make sure you check for rubs).

kids sunblock for my pink nosed mare too! I did get a fly mask with a nv nose bit on it but it drove her mad and so had to trim it off! Sun block seems to do the trick though - kids waterproof seems to stay put the best.

I have just bought the Boots 'Once' for my nasally challenged boy. Factor 50 and only needs reapplying every 6 hours rather than every 2.

Oh and it's BOGOFF on Boots suncream, so got some for me too!

Please note Admin, I am not and never have been an employee of Boots, so am in no way advertising, just stating a fact, so please don't give me another 'Infraction'!:o
