Sunburn!!!!

What an evil mummy I am, got to the yard to find Bert with sunburn on his nose!

Now I know it is warming up but that is ridiculus

Looks like the suncream will be coming out.

Last year my chestnut mare kept rubbing her suncream off - the answer? Use the coloured sticks (like cricketers use)...they may look odd...but they stay there for the day!

I had this problem with an old horse of mine that had a big pink hooter, all suncream even those thick stick ones didn't work because they wash off when they drink or rub on something, in the end I fashioned my own nose hat! I took a tea towel folded in half stitched across about and inch and half down from fold and then thread onto the noseband of the headcollar! Looked absolutely ridiculous but worked a treat and everytime they drink the towel get wet and acts as a cooler on the nose too! Worked out alot cheaper than sunscreen too as you can get 6 teatowels for a pound at places like poundland! You can wash them when they get minging and throw them out when wrecked!

LOL, bert used to have a nose shield but he objects to having anything near his face, he is claustrophobic.

I have one that comes in a black tub with an orange label and is oils based so it stays on even when he drinks or tries to rub it on me
