Did'nt realise how hot it was going to be Saturday, and my poor baby's nose is a right mess. Struggling to put anything on it as its obviously very sore, anything you guys would reccommend? (She's got an equilibrium nose net on today), did have suncream on sunday and yesterday. Feel so guilty!
 
Sudocreme clears the burns up a treat, and its like a sunblock anyway so use it until the existing burns have cleared.

Then i have heard that gold label sun block is good to prevent burns.

I dont know about you but i find that the sun cremes for humans even the kid ones wear off really fast and i cant be there every 4 hours or so to re apply. Apparently the gold label one lasts all day.

Mine wears an equilibrium sun shield too!!
 
Same happened to my horse last year, agree with the others and use some sudocream.

I even got sunburnt on Saturday

I'm sure I read somewhere that sudocrem is oil based and as it melts in, it can actually help burn noses... Its very good for soothing whilst out of the sun though.

I've found the best to be either a waterproof factor 40 kids suncream - I've been using Superdrugs own in a red bottle - and have to say its been brilliant. Or at a show I use a little yellow pot - its a 3-in-1 as its sunblock, highlighter and fly cream all in one, and that works really well when you don't want bright white gunk slathered everywhere!

Will hunt out the name of it...
 
I did really well though all th sun earlier on, and her nose was really good, until the weather cooled off and would you beleive it - the wet grass made it go all pink and lose hair!

It made her nose sore and sunblock wasn't helping. Typical, you fix one thing, only for something else to start!

Right, so sudocrem and nose net for now then!! Then slap on the factor 30!

Sure we will have a fall out tonight trying to put it on!

Sudacrem is ok I suppose
 
Aloe Vera is excellent for sun burn, i have some for myself and seren,its great stuff,has antibacterial properties and is very soothing, can sting for a second if skin is very sore,but its helping it heal, as other products may sting in the same way,hope your horsey's nose is better soon

Sudocreme is 70% zinc cream which in itself is 100% sun block. Zinc &amp; castor oil cream however does contain oil (obviously) so that is not suitable for use in the sun.
