Sundown Equine Bedding

I use Sundown Yellow. It looks good, smells nice too and stays clean and dry for a good time.

Although I tend to stick a bale of Hemcore in a layer underneath every few weeks (deep litter through winter) as I have a VERY piddly horse.

Does it make a nice soft bed? I'll be using it on top of rubber mats and will be keeping the bed as clean as possible up to and immediately after foaling, want it to be as warm and comfortable as poss too..... Thankfully B is a very clean mare

MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I love it, seems more absorbent, doesn't slip and slide on mats and droppings seem to perch on top (unless you're like Spring who mashes everything as you know!) so you can just scrape off. There's no way I would go back to normal shavings after using this and if I had an allergy to straw as you do, I'd have no hesitation to using it for foaling. It smells luverly too!

Hey you!! Ahhhh is this the stuff that you were rattling on about a while back? I've e-mailed Sundown, as they are only up the road, to see if I can buy direct from them. YO is interested too, so we may be after a couple of pallets....

SN where are you - because the blighters won't supply me unless I have 600 bales - err no thanks mate! They told my local supplier that the yellow "is only experimental" and I can only get the red, but I don't want the wretched big shavings in with it. I loved the smell and the absorbency and would really like to use it. I'm near March so if there's any chance of persuading them to do a multidrop delivery and we're near enough I'm very interested.

Anyone use their products?

I am interested in their Equine Yellow bedding, for foaling on. I was given a 1/2 bag as a sample by my feed supplier earlier and it looks awesome!

Rape straw bedding is fab and I use it myself, but I am not sure I would foal down on it, call me old fashioned but I would be too worried about little bits getting in little places

have ordered some ordinary wheat straw for my own mare to foal down on but will change back to Bliss after a couple of weeks or so.

Blimey - well 600 bales would certainly last a fair while and we've the space (I think....) I'll let you know what they say!

I can't use straw and even if I could, YO won't have it onthe yard!! It's this, Bedmax or Ecobed atm.

Ahh I see, tbh I would go for the Bedmax then, never used Ecobed - is that the cardboard one?

Yep, Ecobed is the cardboard bedding. I've foaled on Bedmax before, just looking at alternatives really tbh.
