Just wondering how effective sunflower oil is with their coat?
Also how should I introduce it into my horse's feed

I’ve only ever fed vegetable oil and that has been for weight gain. I would introduce to feed gradually, starting with a small amount. It’s good for calories without bulk.
if you want a shiny coat I feed micronised linseed, which gives a fantastic shine. I think you can feed linseed oil as an alternative. Only downside of micronised linseed is some birds dog through the horse poo to find the seeds.

It's stuffed full of pro inflammatory omega 6 ... if I were feeding oil I would use Linseed which is good source of anti inflammatory omega 3.

I've heard too muc can make your horses droppings really loose...

At my yard it's fed in the feeds which gives a good shiny coat. I think putting on their coats can make it greasy.
