Does anyone know anything about Sunny Boy? I appreciate there seem to be 100's of stallions with the same name. He stands at the Kennedy Equine Centre is by Julio Mariner a TB stallion i think i really like and out of a mare called Euphonia who is by Notaris who is by Courville TB so actually a lot of TB in the lines despite Sunny Boy having a KWPN passport?!?!

Does anyone have anything to say either about him or Julio Mariner or Notaris or anything.....

The info I have is http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/sunny+boy24 his pedigree and his page on teh KEC website which is out of date.... http://www.kennedyequinecentre.com/page5maltsun06.htm

I think he's a lovely looking horse and if he jumps or produces jumpers like Julio Mariner then could be fab......

Thoughts please!!!

I do wish I had something to add; he looks a very attractive potential sire & I've been lurking & hoping that someone else would come on & tell ME more as well. (In fact the stud in your link seems to be producing nice animals all round). I didn't even know much about Julio Mariner, despite the familiarity of his name- but was intrigued to see he's got Le Sage in his pedigree; that's a horse that appears in my old mare's dam's pedigree but I've never known much about him. She could jump; I thought it came through from her sire's side, but maybe Le Sage also had something to do with it...

I replied to sw123 on another forum about Julio Mariner. He is a superbly bred staying racehorse, his dam produced two Oaks winners in addition to Julio Mariner winning the St leger and its crazy that the Dutch 'discovered' him and we now buy his stock as KWPN and rave about them, and yet I bet if he stayed in the UK and just graded with the SHB, he would be barely used.

IF you could that would be great

sunny boy not my ideal stallion. have seen alot of his offspring as we are in ireland, and they do not make the good prices even when they are out of good mares.

this problay wont help you now but hear it is...

I have a 7yr gelding by Sunny Boy, Sunny Boy sims to have passed a lots of his charactorlists and abilty onto my fella, how is out of a Powerswood Purple mare. I have started jumping 130cm with him in shows and he is showing great promise as a grand prix horse for the future as he is bold and careful and he is also a fantactic dressage horse and eventer. I have also met another one of Sunny Boys sons and he also showed fab movement and great carefulness and scope in the showjumping.
You can see a few more of Sunny Boys offspring on youtube:

I have a 6yr old gelding by Sunny Boy out of a mare by My Rough Diamond (TB). He is still growing and slow maturing, but a very good looking, nice moving horse with a big jump and good technique over a fence.
