The supa studs outfit had a stand at a horse event last year and there was a very unplausible middle aged, portly man wearing a T shirt with Supa Stud emblazed on the front. It did make me laugh
I can't get any studs in straight - let alone these! Supposed to be able to get them in without re-threading the hole, but I can't!!! Think I'm just 'cack-handed'!!
Bought some last year at Bramham, and seem good. One advantage though - D didn't clean out his stud holes for last comp and when the ground was worse than expected, he decided to put some in. I was quite dismayed to find a stone jammed right in the hole, but because supastud has a concave top, was still able to get the stud screwed right in. hubby says prob wouldn't have been able to get an ordinary one in.
They are v expensive though,
i got some a few weeks bck, got them from their website, they had a pre-season sale which saved me quite a bit, so bear that in mind for next year.think the sale ended at the end of feb!
They're very good indeed. I normally have the hole plugged with cotton wool between competitions so just flick that out & then sttaight in with the stud. It's so much safer to just screw the stud in rather than having to put the tap in to clean the threads out first. In the past I've had horse put foot down with the tap still in & it's snapped it off in the hole....big problem, it can't happen now, it's much safer & quicker aswell.
