Hi I have read their guide but still a little lost. by boy is having his shoes tapped in a couple of weeks and i am lost as to how many and which ones I should get... what do you guys have as a good range to keep handy?

Road studs, small pointies, big pointies (not stupidly massive) and medium rounded ones for soft ground would be a good start.
Ideally 8 of each....

I like to get 10 of each, as in the past I have lost the odd one in long grass.
It's a pain finding them again!

Yes they looks good. I'd also get 4 sharp studs for use in front on very hard ground
