Sarnie's is 99% there but feet aren't perfectly level (picky? moi?!), S-J, please do you have one where they are?
you see, i think Arth's is perfect to illustrate the point, which is as much about that kind of style being brilliant for saving your necks if you get in a bit close... speed of knees coming up high enough as horse leaves the floor. hopefully you'll see what i mean when the article's on the website!
I have aperfect one on the wall in front of me but the scanner won't work!! Are these what you are after? I also have one of him which is utterly perfect but its over a sj!
apologies for the random frame thing - lost the original on the comp!!
There are a couple of photos in Eventing of him brushing his nose with his knees (one in particular is from the Euros) I can't find any good examples on google though but it might be worth searching around for.
What about this one? This is Ben. Cant get much neater but I suppose legs could be more forward round his chin.... I have copyright so Hils is welcome to use it ...
wow kit, now THAT is what i'm talking about... a bit too much air but SOO neat.
thanks everyone, lots to work with, thanks to this i've discovered that i can get into the EWW archives (durr, didn't realise that for some reason) so am finding lots there too... prob easier to avoid copyright hassles etc etc, use some from there!
oooh, found a FABBY one, EWW Brigstock 09 pics, 2nd row, 3rd from L, Mary Mason and Night Watchman IV. she's got him a teensy bit close maybe and he's come off the floor like Superman, love it!
Somewhere I have a pic of a horse jumping with its feet snapped up literally either side of its ears - can I find it? No! Will pm you it if I do.
Conversely, when flicking through looking I found this series of pics which, although hideously out of focus, I though were interesting - you can see in the first pic that the horse has snapped right up but still got into trouble...
Ginn, ugh at those pics, he's snapped up with right knee and left the other one dangling down, from rider's face on take-off i suspect she didn't get there on a good one either, maybe off a flat stride or something, but very lucky that the top of the fence was brush, and that the fence broke. yeuky. did very well to keep his feet there.
thanks everyone, have been going through galleries and found some really good ones now!
As I remember it was the Normandy bank at Badders in 07 - she got a duff stride to the first (will see if I can find that pic too) and didn't really recover for the final element - hence the extremely unfocussed pics as I wasn't actually looking through the camera by that point! She did then pull up hop off and retire.
Very, very lucky indeed that the fence gave in the way it did.
Ok - this was part B (Part A was the step up)
Had a rummage and found these too...
And not eventing pics but shows that small ponies also have the knack of picking their tootsies up...
If you want any of henry you are more than welcome to them... (most of his pics look like the one I sent to you via pm the other day) I have some really good SJ ones of him to!
Kerilli I am blaming you for my blue mood - just been looking at pics I have taken and most of them feature SUN *humph* I only have SJ ones that fit the bill unfortunately.
