So we are in week 3'ish of backing and Skylla is still going well!
We're trying to keep things short and sweet and taking our time, so although I feel if I took a week off and really concentrated on her she would be 'done' quicker I think she will benefit for a slow and steady approach long term.

She's coming on very well with being long-lined and is very relaxed about the whole thing now, so I'm now having to be careful she doesn't step on the lines when she's pootling along with her head near the floor (who knew babies heads were so heavy :D). Still ever so slightly reactive when we initally start about the lines going round her bum, so I'm now incorporating some inhand sessions purely on desenstising. Mainly getting her to accept a rope being swung about around her and on her, she's funny as she will jump the first time and then be fine but come the next day/session will still have that little jump of uncertainty that first time. We're planning lots of spook busting things invloving plastic bags, tarps to walk on etc, I'm hoping she will stay as bold as she has done so far!

I'm carrying on with sitting on her :), I long-lined her the other day in the school and then had a little sit whilst no one held her. I was confident that she would be fine as long as we stayed still ;):D, and she was though she does think humans are very odd with their apparent desire to launch on her and clamber about ;). She's not ready to go it alone on the move yet but we're getting there! Really cannot wait to hack her out ridden as she loves going for a walk on the long-lines and inhand :).

Pictures and video (though you may have to excuse the ridiculous chattering you might hear on the video :o:D):

Thanks guys, she is just fabby. Little bit jumpy with me on board tonight, but it was getting dark and the wind was picking up so we finished on a good note and left it there. Hopefully she just needs a bit more repetition.
