Alarm went off at 5.45am Sunday, quick leg wash, attempted to plait with thread for the first time, come to the last 3 & couldnt thread my needle, so they had to be banded in!!
First class was Hunter in hand, with 17 entries! She behaved really well especially with 4 horses rearing & leaping.Got called in 1st, did our trot up & I just about kept up, I need to get fit!

Quick warm up for the ridden show hunter. Went in to big spooks at the WH fences, wasnt expecting much as was a very strong class. Nearly fell off in shock as I got called in 1st! She gave the judge a lovely ride. Just taken her saddle off when steward comes & says Im needed for the inhand championships. Luckily the ridden judge let us leave, as she then got inhand Champion! Cue lots more :D and quick run back into ridden class to do my trot up. Back on for final walk round, to be called in 2nd!!
Super super pleased with her, we didnt stay for the Ridden champs as we were both knackered.
Photobucket won't upload the ridden pics for some reason
& I have full permission to post pics as they were taken by my mum :)

Gallop!! Still not mastered it yet, more trips to the beach needed :)

Just before the trot up, the Grey next to us won it. Which he deserved, I think he is a more of a hunter then the Princess. He went on the be Reserve ridden champ.

Really well done and love the gallop photo.

A very smart looking horse.

Couple of minor turn out suggestions if I may be so bold! A brown pair of gloves would look better and also use a piece of thread or elastic for your number rather than the one the show provides as you can cut it to fit.

Am well impressed. Had set my alarm for a similar time on Sunday but went back to sleep instead. Decided it was just too hot.

Thanks humblepie, Any tips are much appreciated! :) I could only find 1 brown glove, I think one of the dogs may have stolen my other one, but will be buying another pair before our next show.
Ah good idea about thread for the number, thanks :)
It was roasting, thank god my classes were in the morning, had they been afternoon I don't think I would have gone!

Awe shes lovely and huge congratualtions with your results. For the sewing I keep a couple of the cheap needle threaders in my kit. Usually cost about 50p from any sewing shop and make life so much easier. Also I make sure to keep a few needles handy just in case I lose or break one.

Thanks CalllyH :)

Great tip, renegade, will pick some up over the weekend :) I had threaded 2 the night before with quite a length of thread, but I obviously under estimated how much thread i would need, oops!
