Oh Genie, you super super little horse!
A bright and early trip to West Wilts this morning (made less early by my plaiting last night, turning her out and hoping for the best!) and glad to have early tests as it was already boiling when we arrived. Two Prelims were on the cards today - P17 as a run through for Regionals next week (eek!) and P19 to start her Winter qualification.
I experimented a little today - we have in the past had to work in for 30-35 minutes, but with the heat recently I have found that she's tiring quicker, so we tried 20mins which seems to do the job. I also tried apple juice in her water to encourage her to drink as she tends not to when at a show, and it worked perfectly.
There were places in both tests that I felt we threw away marks, but super happy with the results! The walk still lacks a bit of purpose but it is getting there.
P17 - 72.9% (A personal best at BD) - 1st by 8%
P19 - 72.3% - 2nd, just pipped by 0.7%
Absolutely over the moon with the pony! We now have Summerhouse on Friday for one final run through of P17, and also doing N22 to try and finish her Petplans Qualification - we have left it rather late so touch wood.
Two pictures of Her Maj for you today - a happy pony snoozing at the lorry while having a massage (and after her tests she got a shower as well... spoilt much?) and a rather long distance one that my Mum took of our test... Mum is not horsey and also not a photographer - this is the first time in months that she's even remembered the camera!
