Superleague has moved to rome, Nick Skelton, Michael and John Whitaker and Robert Smith all there (last 4 selected for superleague team)

I saw that too...

Guess Hickstead will always have a Nations Cup though...just maybe not the Superleague replacement.

Did anyone else not think it seems to be all being left a bit late to defne a replacement though. They don't even know what they want yet...let alone have a series sponsor. In this financial climate I think they may be struggling...

I think we know who 3 of the Beijing squad are now...so who's gonna take the 4th and 5th places ?

For me it's between Ellen and Locarno (haven't seen them out for a while

The photographer I work for went out to photograph it, I don't think he will be too pleased to get wet!! hehe..
 
The team in La Baule though was completly 2nd rate and they only missed 2nd by a pole.

A far better team today, with 3 Olympic hopefuls in it.

I would say that Arko excepted we couldn't put out a stronger team...and in fact, i'm not sure anyone in the world could beat THAT foursome on their day

Yeah for Team GB....a well deserved victory, and all the more enjoyable for being able to watch it through the website.

Ironically, we *could* do very well this year in the Superleague....the one year when it doesn't really matter whether or not we come first or last as there'll be nothing to be relegated from this time round

Agree with that - Just wanted to ask...if anyone knows. Whats happened to Locarno? I read something in Horse magazine at the yard yesterday, Ellen saying they were "resting" Locarno to keep him fresh. Actually the quote reads "the more you starve Locarno of jumping, the better he seems to jump when he goes to his next show". But surely they need to be getting him out sharpish - With other 4/5th place team place possibilities showing such good form her place is less likely?
 
Although I hope Lacarno is ok and is just 'resting,' I do think it will be somewhat unfair if Ellen is allowed to do just one super league nations cup and get selected for the olympics, with everybody else including John Whitaker having to prove themselves with at least two. I agree with Rambo and think John, Michael and Tim are definates. It will be interesting to watch Ben Maher and Peter Charles as they are both on the team this weekend.
