The formerly-believed-to-be-a-stray but now resident cat reckoned that I needed supervising tonight doing the evening routine :D.

She likes to be part of everything. The yard is her personal fiefdom, of course.

I hope that I passed muster.

She then followed me back down the house, and is now curled up asleep in her favourite bed in the dining room. It used to be the dog's favourite bed, but the cat has turfed the dog out into another one.

My black cat is my shadow at the yard. She follows me everywhere and supervises while I muck out. When I ride, she sits in the manège. I love her.
Love this!

More pics of supervising cats (of any colour) welcome, please :).

In this pic, our black cat, who had been sitting and watching by the arena fence, decided to take an active role in the in hand pole work . I managed to circle the IDx away from the pole in time.

She's on a diet. The vets pronounced her to be in overall good health for her age (about 11yo), but a tad on the porky side. She's not impressed, this is a pic taken this morning half an hour after breakfast.

Not a yard cat but my dad was adopted by a stray in Spain where he lived. Stunning cat who only loved my dad - no one else could get near him. Every evening he would go for a walk for about half an hour and Cheetah would walk at his heels. He became quite well known among the locals as the odd Englishman who took his cat for a walk every evening.

How lovely OP, I love when a cat selects its new owner! Ive never had such luck at my place, but my mother used to always have a stray moving in - they'd be semi feral and just somehow end up moving in, then when that cat passed away then the next one would literally arrive in days, it was bizarre but we were so lucky with such lovely cats as a result. Id love a cat for round the stables, my Bengal isnt trustworthy enough... I let her come to the stables once and she was practically under the horses feet about to be trod on.
