I am riding my friends horse for her whilst she is off having a baby. He has always been a bit windy but had a mild bout of spasmodic colic today.

The vet recommended I try a supplement like Thrive to help prevent Seans flatulence

can anyone recommend anything? Was thinking about the NAF Thrive and/or Global Herbs Fennel? He also windsucks which doesn't help matters

I used Coligone last year when Sunny had an episode of gassy colic from too rich spring grazing and it worked a treat. As H's mum says, it's not expensive if you get the 5 litre liquid (which I did) and because it actually works I reckon it's money well spent. He has a 3 day dose now, every time something stressful is going to happen eg changing fields, winter to summer regime, being kept in etc etc. Brilliant stuff. My ned loves the aniseed taste though he does flemhen first.
