My horses hips have started clicking when he lifts his hind legs so i am guessing its time for a joint supplement to be on the safe side!
Despite being a TB he is a good doer so only has chaff and a balancer through the winter. Dengie do a balancer that has a glucosamine supplement built in.

Would you recommend or buy one separate?? I am looking for the cheaper option too as funds are tight :-\

I am currently using Equine answers premier flex for my two. My 22 yo seemed to be having a few issues lifting his hind legs for farrier and for us picking out his feet (he's never been brill though in the 18 years I've had him - would prefer I did the lifting!). I have to say, since being on the supplement he is lifting them all by himself! :) So far so good. It's not overly expensive (about £45 ish for 120 days or something like that)

I have used supplements in the past for my elderly arthritic boy, but since he has been diagnosed with low grade Cushings and lost some condition, my vet recommended altering his diet entirely. So now he gets Top Spec Senior balancer included, which addresses mobility as well as providing all the other vitimins/minerals he needs - and what a difference. I noticed it even before he began his Cushings medication. It's not cheap but it's cheaper than buying supplements for my big boy.

I also noticed a massive difference using top spec senior with my mare - but she is also a good doer and she put on far too much condition! I used the top spec 10:10 supplement alongside Antilam balancer after that, but have just switched to forage plus winter hoof health and have let the 10:10 run out to see if the forage plus works as it claims to!

The cheapest I could find was Glucosamine Plus on Discount Equestrian!

I wanted something with glucosamine and msm, because the herbal stuff has less scientific evidence behind it. (though have heard good things about bosweila!)
