Hi all,

Through one thing and another my horse has been on a lot of antibiotics and bute for various injuries. Fingers crossed he is now through the worse of it and I am wanting a supplement to support his immunity.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Haemavite b plus, fantastic stuff, basically a blood tonic with b vitamins to support the gut, i can highly recommend it, I used it when my mare was really ill on vets Recommendation. Really gives them a boost, it's designed for horses in high performance work or for those recovering from illness.

My horse had months of antibiotics last year but stayed looking well, his normal supplement had probiotic in it, so that would be my first suggestion. I also swear by Global Herbs Restore to cleanse the liver, very good stuff and not expensive, I use it around worming and vaccination time too :)

Mine had a lot of antibiotics and danilon over summer because of an injury and when she eventually went back out onto grazing she colicked. I bought Naf biotics to get her gut back on track and that really helped but when she came off that (it is only a 10 day course) she started getting really gassy again. I bought pink powder instead and I have to say she has been brilliant on it, she looks really good and is coping so well just now. I'm keeping her on it. I think it works well as a feed balancer but is good for their gut too.
