Supplements for 18yr old

Heya we have an 18yr old lead rein pony, thinking of maybe starting to give him a joint supplement now hes getting on a bit, anyone have any suggestions what would be good or even if he needs any

I sort of go along with if it ain't broke don't fix it! But I appreciate as horses get older they need a bit extra for joints and things and people like to make sure they are doing the right thing.

what is he fed at the moment ?

I like micronised linseed and boswellia for my oldie, but I wouldn't feed the later if he had no stiffness signs.

I don't believe standard joint supps do anything.

I would add some micronised linseed as ester has suggested both of my horses have had it for years it has many health benefits.
