I have just started feeding my TBx biotin as his feet are pretty poor, I also want to start feeding cider vinegar as he's getting on a bit and also garlic as the flies are just crazy here!! So this means he would be getting biotin, cider vinegar and garlic would this be alright? or a bit much?

If you are feeding him a balanced diet then I would say scratch the biotin. it never made a difference to my mares hooves, I found that giving them intensive care from the outside was the only way to get them right. I used some stuff called hoof save which is a orange cream in a pump pot that has collagen in it and it was amazing! I'm not an expert on C.A.V - so I couldn’t comment.

as for garlic I am probably going to get launched on by loads of garlic feeders but I read a report about it being poisonous to horses, and also it is (supposedly) unpalatable and can cause bad behaviour. I also never found that it helped with the flies. I stopped using it 2 weeks ago and started using yeast sac or something to that effect instead. my horse now has no flies on her at all with no fly spray. the yeast flavour goes into their blood and makes them smell nasty to the flies so they don’t bite. I wish I had discovered this years ago because its so cheap as well!!

I cant remember the names etc but if you were interested in anything I have said then let me know and I will find you some links to the products.

Sounds fine to me- it takes about 3-9 months to see a difference with the biotin supplement.
