I have recently purchased a new horse, whose feet are awful, really dry & cracked. So far the longest he has keep his shoes on for is 10 days! :( Obviously each time he pulls one, he damages the hoof even more.

I hope to do a bit of eventing in the summer with him but I can't see him keeping sound for long enough to compete the way his feet are at the moment. So far I have done some unafiliated dressage & show jumping with him, he is also quite tense & excitable at times. I saw an advert for a company called Horse First in H&H recently, they have a product called
Relax Me & they also have a hoof supplement. I was wondering if anyone has used their products and had results success with them.

Could really do with some help to get my beautiful new horse doing something, other than waiting for the blacksmith!

I can tell that you are aware that the issue needs to be addressed internally. Treating the hooves with lotions and potions may help a little temporarily, but it will not solve the real problem.

The real problem though is that you will get many recommendations on here. Different people swear by different product, while these products have done nothing for other horses. It is a matter of trial and error I am afraid.

For me, I have tried several hoof supplements, none of the expensive ones worked at all, but I had fantastic results with Equimins Biotin.

Try which product takes your fancy for whatever reason, give it at least six months and see how it goes. The full result will not be known until 12 months of use.

Good luck

i'm not sure if this actually works, but someone said jelly was good for there feet. . her horse could never keep shoes on longer than a week but he now goes the full time.
sorry if complete rubbish
